BOKANYI CUSTOM BLADES by Gene Bokanyi
We first introduced Bokanyi Custom Blades back in our ROOM 101 post, where they teamed up to make a knife called the "Obake".
Since then, we've formed somewhat of an addiction to the Bokanyi knives and can't stop admiring their custom work on edged weapons.
Bokanyi Custom Blades was founded by Gene Bokanyi, who began studying and collecting knives from the age of seven. He first started modifying existing knives (changing handle material, making different liners, etc) that he owned and, then, doing the same for friends' knives. Now, he offers an entire collection of custom knives on his website, including fixed blade, folder, neck knives, tomahawks and troll knives.
Gene prides himself on his custom work and strong attention to detail. He only produces knives that he feels 100% confident in using in extreme situations.
Below are some of his custom (no two folders are identical) folding knife designs. He uses a variety of different materials including S30V and Ats-34 steel for the blades and titanium plate for the locks, as well as a variety of handle materials such as G-10, carbon fiber, micarta and exotic woods. All of Bokanyi Custom Blades knives carry a lifetime warranty from defects in materials and workmanship.
